Memorial Day 2017

State veteran cemeteries at Ft. Dodge, Ft. Riley, Wakeeney, and Winfield all hosted Memorial Day services.
Beautiful weather and large crowds were the recurring themes of the day as hundreds of volunteers and thousands of attendees were present at all four state cemeteries on Memorial Day this year to commemorate service members killed in the defense of this great nation. Key-note speakers, bands, singers, motorcycle riders, wreath layers, and even aircraft flyovers were all part of the fitting tributes to our fallen. So much preparation goes into the planning and execution of every one of these services and we cannot thank all the cemetery staff and the hundreds of volunteers for all their hard work every year. They are the reason our state veteran cemeteries are a fitting memorial and final resting place for veterans and family members.
