Brigadier General (Retired) William (Bill) A. Turner, Director

BG(R) Bill Turner graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Field Artillery in 1986.

He commanded at the Battery, Battalion, and Brigade levels. His service also includes tours as an Battalion Executive and Operations Officer with the 25th Infantry Division Artillery, Personnel Assignment Officer at the U.S. Army Personnel Command, Plans Officer at U.S. Army Pacific, Deputy Director of Executive Communications and Control for the Chief of Staff of the Army, Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff, Army, Deputy Director/ Director Joint Interagency Task Force for Multi-National Force- Iraq, Director Army Campaign Plan, Executive Officer to the Headquarters Department of the Army Plans/Operations Officer, Executive Officer to the Vice Chief of Staff, Army, Chief VCSA Initiatives Group, and as the 51st Commandant of the United States Army Field Artillery School and Chief of the Field Artillery.

Bill has been afforded many unique professional experiences and opportunities to include duty in the Federal Republic of Germany, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Korea, 1st Infantry Division, 25th Infantry Division, XVIII Airborne Corps, 1st Army, 1st Armored Division, and the Pentagon. He concluded his service in the Army as Deputy Commanding General of the 1st Infantry Division.

Bill also holds a Master’s Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the National War College. His military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, United States Army Command and General Staff College, and the National War College.

Following his retirement, BG(R) Turner, was a Senior Field Artillery Mentor with the Mission Command Training Program at Fort Leavenworth, KS.

He is married to the former LTC(R) Alissa Deuel and they have four children.
